Nyagaroon Implementation Plan:
A Vision for Taungurung Country
We're thrilled to announce the start of our work on the Nyagaroon Implementation Plan, following the historic transfer of Nyagaroon, a culturally significant site on the Acheron River, to the Taungurung Land and Waters Council last year. This 250+ acre area, previously the Acheron Youth Camp, is set for transformation.
This is a collaborative project within an ongoing co-design framework, that outlines a plan for project delivery, and the community’s ongoing vision for Nyagaroon, under the existing Taungurung Nation’s Cultural Landscape Management Strategy. This Implementation Plan is a strategic framework for the project, aiming to blend the community’s vision for the place with future capacity building, ensuring Nyagaroon's cultural and environmental legacy.
Led by the Taungurung Land and Waters Council, this collaborative effort is a step towards realising a sustainable and culturally rich future for Nyagaroon. Keep an eye out for our journey, as we work to honour the Taungurung community's heritage and connection to this special place.
