North-East Victoria
size: 300 sqm

Design for a community meeting place as part of a broader site renewal plan. The building is conceived as an open shelter for meeting and gathering. Importantly, it bridges across one of the site's natural drainage lines, allowing flow to continue along to the river below. These gullies form an important part of the site's landscape design — places where water can slow down and help regenerate the bush setting — and the building allows for close interaction with this site system.
{PLAN 00} -
GROUND FLOOR AND LANDSCAPE
- -
The landscape design is connected by a central soak line -
a figure that carries the broader water story of the
Wimmera region through the site The garden is fed slowly
by rainwater, captured in a number of tanks across the site....
Each dwelling has a entry nook,
providing a space to rest and
view the garden, while feeling
contained.
